Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians Drug policy concerning new hires:

All new hires--full-time, part-time and temporary--to the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians
are subject to drug testing. If a new hire fails a drug test, any offer of employment will be
withdrawn by the tribe.

All applicants interviewed by Tribal Council will sign the Pre-employment drug/alcohol
testing Consent and release form as part of the application process of the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians.

Applicants who refuse to participate in drug testing will not be employed by The Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians.

All interviewed prospective employees are required to submit to an employer sponsored
drug test once a conditional offer of employment has been extended and accepted. An
offer of employment by Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians is conditioned on the
prospective employee testing negative for illegal substances.

If applicant has positive drug test, he/she shall not be employed, but may reapply for
employment after twelve (12) months, subject to passing a drug test.
